Bethesda Charitable Trust in Kerala, inaugurated in early 2002, runs Bethesda Rehabilitation Centre, Old Age Homes, a Centre for the Differently-Abled, and a Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre.

Bethesda Charitable Trust is registered under 12A, 80G, and FCRA. More than 10,000 members have enjoyed the facilities and hospitality offered at Bethesda.

Bethesda Senior Citizens’ Home

Bethesda Charitable Trust also manages a senior citizens’ home, where 100 residents are currently enjoying the facilities. This old age home is situated on the riverbank in Puthur, in the district of Thrissur, Kerala, in a clean, calm, and serene atmosphere.

The home offers natural village surroundings, a pleasant climate, and committed, well-trained caretakers. Its proximity to places of worship and the rich culture of Thrissur hospitality are among its many advantages.

The soothing ambience and comfortable amenities stand as a testament to the love and care extended to the residents.

Bethesda Centre for the Differently-Abled

The Bethesda Centre for the Differently-Abled is a residential institution for persons with disabilities — especially those with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, and multiple disabilities.

The objective of the organization is the care and rehabilitation of differently-abled individuals.

This Centre provides primary education, healthcare, therapy, and shelter for physically challenged persons.

We offer food, accommodation, nursing care, medical facilities, and various types of vocational training.

At present, 50 residents are utilizing the facilities. All members possess destitute certificates, disability certificates, and Niramaya Insurance cards.

The institution also conducts awareness meetings in Panchayats on topics such as health, hygiene, and the rights of disabled persons. It organizes medical and eye camps, providing free medicines to those attending.

The Rehabilitation Centre is located at Kuttanallore–Marottichal Road, near Puthur.

Bethesda Rehabilitation Centre for the Mentally Ill

We cannot afford to forget our fellow neighbors with mental disabilities. Bethesda cares deeply for the mentally challenged, providing medicines and other necessary facilities.

Although there are a number of organizations supporting such citizens, there is always the danger of exploitation. Keeping this in mind, Bethesda Charitable Trust in Kerala is at the forefront of supporting disabled persons.

It operates a 50-bedded facility located in Puthur, Thrissur District, owned and managed by the Trust.

Bethesda offers comprehensive treatment and community-based psychosocial rehabilitation for those suffering from chronic mental disorders.

Started in 2002, the organization extends all possible assistance to individuals with mental illnesses.

Our compassionate services give them a sense of belonging and serve as a shield against isolation.

We create a homely atmosphere filled with trust, dignity, and love.

Cultural and Support Initiatives

Events such as Kamala Surayya Smrithi Mandapam promote art and culture, helping residents find a place in society.

Our facilities include such activities for the overall well-being of individuals, guided by our motto:

“To serve with love those who dream of care.”

The Dr. Sukumar Azhikode Memorial Library is also active within the premises.

Our Subharatri Shelter provides proper care and accommodation for women and children.

It is heartbreaking to see our peers on the streets, hungry and without clothing — hence, we provide shelter, food, and clothing for such neglected individuals.

Expansion and Vision

We have extended our services to the Palakkad District and Ooty, Tamil Nadu.

Our vision is to establish 15 centres across different states of India, continuing our mission of compassionate care and rehabilitation.
